COURSE DESCRIPTION
This four day course focuses on those skills necessary for immediate action rapid deployment by PATROL OFFICERS to save lives in situations involving an ongoing, shots fired, or downed officer/citizen rescue.  PIER allows patrol officers to combine immediate resources and manpower to interdict and resolve “in progress” calls where no other options are readily available.  PIER is not intended to be used as a SWAT team.  It is not intended to be used as a means of resolving any type of critical incident other than an immediate, life threatening crisis.  PIER develops the necessary teamwork and tactics among patrol officers that are crucial for success during life threatening situations where delayed deployment could otherwise result in death or serious bodily injury to innocent persons.
